Objectives and Outcomes | Assessment Schedule
The Australian History course in Year 10 in 2004 will cover the second half of the Stage 5 course from World War Two to 2001 and will revise the material covered in Year 9 in preparation for the School Certificate Exam in November, 2004.
The Five Focus issues will also be covered as required by the Board of Studies. Revision of Year 9 work will be carried out
Opportunities will be given to students to concentrate on the special areas of study for the exam whilst still covering all elements of the course. Students will also have the opportunity to work in groups and as individuals, using the most up to date information technology to research task whilst, at the same time, learning and consolidating research preparation literacy and presentation skills.
Assessment tasks will be put onto this site and may not be distributed in printed form through the class.

Students should take any opportunity to complete wide reading in this subject and not rely solely on the textbook
Main topics to be examined for Parts A (multiple choice) and B (short answer) are Australia and World War Two and Social and Political Issues from the 1970s to the 1990s. The remaining topics, together with these topics, will be examinable in the longer answer sections of the paper.
Skills which will be focussed on this year include Using Sources, Answering Multiple Choice Questions and Long Writing. These are all skills needed for the School Certificate Reference Test at the end of the year
The Half Yearly and Yearly Exams will be in the style of the external School Certificate Test and will take place during the Half Yearly Exam session in Term 2 and the Trial School Certificate period at the end of Term 3.
Revision of Year 9 Work will be completed in class in Term 4. Copies of this work will be distributed in class, set for homework and worked on in class.
