This course is designed to stimulate students' interest in the world around them by exposing them to many different countries with which they would not normally come into contact.
Of particular importance is for the students to develop an awareness of the differences between their lives and the lives of other people around the world particularly in relation to
- comfort
- safety
- availability of resources
- freedom of expression
Therefore students are encouraged to complete wide reading both in books and on the internet and should use the Resources List as a beginning.
They study elements of the history of Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, India, the USA, Russia, Fiji, Tonga, New Zealand and many other countries.
